OVERVIEW

What Is Hemp Fabric?

Hemp fabric is woven or knitted from fibers harvested from the Cannabis sativa plant — one of the strongest, most sustainable natural fibers on Earth. Unlike cotton, hemp requires 50% less water, zero pesticides, and grows to maturity in 90–120 days while simultaneously improving soil health through its deep root system.

"Hemp is having a renaissance in sportswear — not because it's new, but because the consumer market has finally caught up to what textile engineers have known for decades. Hemp's natural antibacterial properties, UV resistance, and 8× the tensile strength of cotton make it functionally superior for activewear — and the sustainability narrative closes the sale. The challenge was always texture — hemp-cotton blends have solved that. This isn't a trend anymore; it's a permanent shift in how premium brands think about fabric sourcing."

Our hemp range covers hemp-cotton blends (55/45), hemp-polyester blends (65/35), 100% hemp canvas, hemp French terry, and hemp twill. Weights span 140–300 GSM. Every batch is tested for antibacterial efficacy (AATCC 147), tensile strength (ASTM D5035), UV protection (AS/NZS 4399), pilling resistance (ISO 12945-2 Grade 3+), and colorfastness (Grade 4+, AATCC 61).

Intrinsic Performance — No Chemical Treatments Required

Hemp's advantages aren't added in finishing — they're built into the fiber itself. These properties persist through 50+ wash cycles because they're structural, not surface-applied.

Where Hemp Fabric Sits in the Weight Spectrum

The most-ordered hemp fabric is 180 GSM hemp-cotton 55/45 — the sweet spot for yoga pants, lightweight hoodies, and sustainable tees where softness matters. For heavy-duty canvas bags and outdoor gear, 250–300 GSM 100% hemp canvas is the standard. For sublimation-ready garments, 180–220 GSM hemp-polyester blends deliver printability with hemp's sustainability story.
