What Is CVC Fabric?
CVC (Chief Value Cotton) is a blended fabric where the majority component is cotton — typically 60% cotton and 40% polyester. The critical engineering feature that separates true CVC from a generic blend is the yarn placement: the cotton yarn is woven or knitted to form the outer surface (technical face), while the polyester yarn is positioned on the inner surface (technical back).
This construction means that when you print on CVC, the ink bonds with cotton fibers on the surface — producing the same rich, opaque results as 100% cotton. Meanwhile, the polyester back acts as a structural anchor that prevents the cotton from shrinking, wrinkling, or tearing as easily.
Our CVC range covers 60/40 single jersey (150–220 GSM), 60/40 piqué (200–240 GSM for polos), 60/40 interlock (180–220 GSM for premium weight), 65/35 heavy fleece (240–300 GSM), and 60/40 rib knit (for cuffs and neckbands). Every batch is tested for shrinkage (<2% pre-shrunk), colorfastness (Grade 4+, AATCC 61), pilling resistance (Grade 3–4, ISO 12945-2), tensile strength (ASTM D5035), and surface fiber composition verification (to confirm cotton-dominant face).

Wrinkle Resistant
Significantly less wrinkling than cotton out of the wash and during wear. Garments look presentable straight from the dryer.
Cotton-Soft Surface

Best Methods for CVC Fabric
CVC's cotton face makes it an excellent substrate for most traditional print methods.

Screen Printing
The undisputed #1 method for CVC — the cotton face accepts plastisol, water-based, and most screen inks identically to pure cotton. The polyester back actually helps by preventing ink from bleeding through to the inside of the garment. Sharp edges, vibrant colors, excellent opacity.

Embroidery
CVC piqué and interlock are excellent for embroidery — the polyester backing adds structural stability that pure cotton lacks, meaning dense stitch patterns don't pucker or distort as easily. The #1 decoration method for CVC polos in corporate and golf wear. 3D raised embroidery performs flawlessly.

Heat Transfer / DTF
Works well on CVC's cotton face — polyurethane vinyl and DTF transfers adhere strongly. Ideal for individual player names, number kits, and small-batch custom runs. The cotton face provides good ink adhesion, though very stretchy CVC-spandex blends may need lower heat settings.
